🌿 Maya Bay Closure: August–September 2025 for Natural Restoration



To protect and preserve the delicate marine ecosystem, Maya Bay will be temporarily closed from August 1 to September 30, 2025, as part of an annual conservation effort led by Thailand's Department of National Parks.

This temporary closure helps the bay's beaches, coral reefs, and marine life recover from the impact of tourism — ensuring that future generations can continue to enjoy its beauty.
✅ What You Can Still Enjoy:

    Sightseeing around Maya Bay by boat is still allowed.

    Snorkeling and swimming at nearby spots like Pileh Lagoon, Viking Cave, and Loh Samah Bay remain open.

    Full-day Phi Phi Island tours from Phuket are still available — most tours will include a photo stop in front of Maya Bay without going ashore.

ℹ️ Please Note:

    Landing at the beach is strictly prohibited during the closure period.

    Park rangers will be monitoring the area for environmental protection.

    Tour itineraries may be slightly adjusted to respect the closure.
